Why I publish microformats on my website
Published on under the IndieWeb category.
When I joined the IndieWeb community, I discovered the concept of "microformats." Microformats are a way in which you can add structured data in the same HTML tags you use to mark up the structure of a document. This works because microformats only needs you to add certain keywords to your HTML classes to function.

Adding Reacji support to my Micropub editor
Published on under the IndieWeb category.
I often make use of Slack's "reactions" feature to react to a message that has been posted. Emojis correspond to reactions. A "joy" emoji shows that I found a message funny. I like sending reactions to show my thoughts on a message. After a recent discussion in the IndieWeb chat, I found out about something called "reacjis". Reacjis are short reactions to a post. A reacji should be one emoji, just like you might see in a messaging application. I found that some people support sending and receiving reactions similar to those you might see in Slack, Discord, or even Facebook messenger but on their own site.

Coffee Filtration: A Guide
Published on under the Steampunk category.
There are three main types of filtration used in filter coffee brewing: paper, metal, and cloth. What features does each one have? Which one should I try? Those are the questions I aim to answer in my latest blog post for Steampunk Coffee, "Coffee Filtration: A Guide." In the guide I talk about paper, metal, and cloth filtration and the impact each type of filtration will have on your coffee.

Adding reply context to my social pages
Published on under the IndieWeb category.
When I first started implementing my Micropub endpoint, the tool I use to post content such as likes and bookmarks on my website, I decided that I would show a brief message stating how I had reacted a post. The format for these posts was "I liked ABC" or "I have bookmarked XYZ." These were fine to begin with but I recently started to think that my posts lacked context. Unless someone clicked on the link, there was little context on what I was responding to.

Building my own IndieAuth Endpoint
Published on under the IndieWeb category.
About two weeks ago, I started thinking about IndieAuth. I have implemented a few IndieWeb specifications in the past but IndieAuth was one that I had put to the back of my mind until recently. I was not confident in implementing an authentication endpoint so I decided to move on to other projects. I just came back to the spec and, with some encouragement from the people in the IndieWeb chat, realised that there was no reason why I should not try and build an IndieAuth endpoint. So I did. Now I have an IndieAuth endpoint that I can use to authenticate to any service that uses IndieAuth for authentication.
