Last night, I was exploring personal websites and left numerous tabs open to which I wanted to come back and explore further. During my exploration, I found Anhvn ^1 published a blog post called "I love my website," linking to posts on the topic written by Winnie Lin ^2, Tracy Durnell ^3, Jeremy Keith ^4, and I. I seldom encounter links to my blog posts in the wild, other than through Webmentions. When I do, I always feel a little bit excited.
Something I wrote was read by someone else and perhaps played a small role in encouraging someone else to write about a topic.
This makes me wonder: how many times have people linked to my content that I don't know about? An interesting question!
One of my motivations for writing on the web is that I may be able to start or advance a discussion on the web, such as was the case when I was writing about footnotes on my website [^45. When I see someone reference one of my posts, I feel joyful.
