I looked up at the sky, preparing to go to sleep. I enjoy looking at the sky, especially in the evening, to gaze at the sunsets, stars, the moon. Space is awe-inspiring. It was getting late. A bright glow shone through some clouds. It was the moon, obscured by the clouds but still shining.
In that moment, I was reminded of an evening with colleagues wherein one remarked on the moon hiding behind a few clouds in the city. That scene was beautiful. I had walked in the same spot as we said goodbye for the evening countless times, yet that evening was the first time I saw the moon like it was that night, shining above buildings hundreds of years old.
It is hard to articulate the feeling when seeing something evokes a joyful memory other than to say I am filled with a sense of delight;. The moonlight reminded me of time with friends, together gazing up at the sky.
I reflected on the moonlight, then fell asleep for the evening.
