Do you know that feeling when you know you are exactly where you should be? When the mind can’t possibly imagine one detail to change. When you are elated; joyful.
A violinist and guitarist played a song by Bastille in front of the Barcelona Cathedral. Their music was heavenly. The song choice fit the moment perfectly. I sang the words to the song to myself. “I hear those heavenly bells are ringing.”
A crowd gathered. There was conversation, music. Life. Then a woman with green hair and a skateboard by her side started dancing. The sort of dancing that is immediately obvious. I dare say she felt something in the music: a vibe that almost necessitates dancing.
Her dancing was as captivating as the music itself. The two blended to create a serendipitous whole.
The band is still playing now. I am sitting in an uncomfortable pavement stone. The Sound of Silence now reverberates. A rendition unlike any other I have heard. Someone came over to the person sitting closest to me and asked to take their photo in front of the Cathedral. More people take photos together. There is unity in the air.
The wind blows.
A tear almost falls to my eye from the music.
