Taylor Swift

Regular readers may have noticed I sometimes interject the name of the song to which I am listening while writing. He writes while listening to gold rush by Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is frequently mentioned, my favourite artist. This week I have been listening to Evermore. The words of songs on the album have been echoing in my head all week. "Fades into the grey of my day old tea." "Gleaming, twinkling, eyes are sinking." I have been learning to play some of the songs on piano, too.
I was thinking earlier today that I have gone through, to use the lingo, eras of listening to each of Swift's Eras. Meta indeed. I started listening to Ms. Swift's music after hearing the Midnights album. A few weeks after hearing the album for the first time, I found myself playing various songs on repeat. I listened to the album in order multiple times.
I have since progressed onto different eras. 1989. Reputation. Red. Folklore. Now, Evermore. I wonder if this is common among fellow fans: spending weeks or months getting to know an album before realizing the beauty in another album. Will I be immersed in Speak Now a few months from now? Who knows!
tolerate it is now playing as I write.
A few weeks ago I came across a Taylor Swift fan account on Instagram. I knew fan accounts existed, a fact somewhere on the periphery of my mind, but I had not yet followed along with one. Since following the account, darlingholyground
, I have experienced many moments of joy. The feeling that someone enjoys a musican as much as you is special. I have not yet participated in any of the prompts inviting me to pick my favourite five songs. The account also posts custom album covers in the style of Midnights. The album covers are amazing.
This has me thinking: if I were to pick five of my favourite songs by Ms. Swift (or should I say Dr. Swift!), what would I pick? Maybe:
- no body, no crime
- The Last Great American Dynasty
- Ready For It
- Look What You Made Me Do
- gold rush
How can I choose only five?!
