Edinburgh New College (Photo)
Published on under the Photo category.
A few weeks ago, I saw the gates to the University of Edinburgh New College were open. This has, in my experience, been rare, as every time I walk by the gates have been closed. When I saw the gates open, I took the opportunity and went in to take a few pictures of the courtyard. The view was beautiful. Visible behind the college building was a church on the Royal Mile, standing high. I took a few photos but the one above was my favourite.M

Old photos
Published on under the Photography category.
I am in the process of producing two zines. Each zine features photos centred around a particular theme. I will not spoil too much since I would like to make a full announcement after I have print copies ready to distribute. For now, all you need to know is I am working on two zines and both of them contain photos.

Quiet Edinburgh Zine Launch
Published on under the Zines category.
A few weeks ago, I composed a zine called Quiet Edinburgh, a photo essay based on my experience visiting Edinburgh coming out of lockdown. The zine contains photos taken between April, days after travel restrictions were eased allowing for people to travel outside of their council areas, and June. I composed this zine shortly after taking a break from travelling due to rising COVID cases.

A photo from last weekend
Published on under the Coffee category.
I was in Edinburgh last weekend for the first time in many months. It was nice to break out of my usual routine and do something different. I visited many coffee shops and two museums. If you are ever in Edinburgh, I would recommend visiting both the National Museums of Scotland and the National Gallery. If you happen to be reading this shortly before travelling, check out the Typewriter Exhibit at the National Museum. I saw not only a Lego typewriter in person (yes, Lego, and it works!) but many other interesting typewriters from history. Anyway, I digress.

Photo: Robin
Published on under the Photo category.
Last weekend, I went out walking with my camera in hand. I was lucky enough to see a robin descend to a bush near to me. The robin stayed on the bush for what felt like a minute or two, almost as if they were posing for the camera. (I am delighted that the click sound my camera makes when I take a photo did not scare the bird away.)

Berlin 2022 - More Photos
Published on under the Travel category.
I shared a few photos from my trip in Berlin on my notes blog yesterday. I realise I have a few more photos to share. I thought I would do that here so that they appear on my main blog (this one!) and in the feeds of all of those that subscribe to the blog.

New Orleans 2022
Published on under the Photos category.
Last week, I visited the US for the first time. I travelled to New Orleans. After two connecting flights from Scotland and almost a full day of travel, I arrived greeted by warmth, despite the late hour. I couldn't believe how warm the weather was. I took a few photos on the trip that I want to share here on my blog.
